Julita Jones was born in Los Angeles, and has lived in Laguna Beach since 1962. Born into a family of artists, Julita developed a keen interest in printmaking, receiving a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara, and an M.A. in Printmaking from Cal State University at Fullerton. She focused her attention on a unique and unpredictable process, viscosity printing, hence the acronym after the edition number (e.v.), or “edition variable." Julita Jones began exhibiting at the Festival of Arts in 1970. She has devoted herself to focusing on nature, many times on endangered species. She lives in Laguna Beach.
