Mental Health as Care and Repair , 2024
66 x 105 cm (h x w)
Choreographed Dance Video

This choreographed dance demonstrates the starkly contrasted highs and lows of mental health. I wanted to focus on the speed in which different levels (both physical and mental) could be reached, as well as the time and effort it takes to recover. The constant moving and turning while at a "normal" height, and appearing stable, represents the unseen turmoil of people suffering from poor mental health conditions. The resistance depicted in the ground movements and the quick pace of the transition steps represent the force and strength of these attempts at personal care and repair.
