The “Eco-Powerplant, The Wetland Engine’” is situated in the Bayou Bienvenue Wetland Triangle of the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans, Louisiana. I address the effects of Hurricane Katrina and the current climate crisis that generate migration from the Ninth Ward to other regions.

The project supports the community’s return and invites those migrating from global ports to the U.S. through New Orleans.

The project includes how the Eco-Powerplant performs and is programmed to assist the local ecosystem and industries.
The Eco-Powerplant provides employment and housing for workers arriving on visas, and those displaced by environmental disasters. The project increases hurricane preparedness and decreases displacement in times of emergency.
