“DO YOU TRUST ME?”, titolo dell’opera in mostra, è la domanda che Vascellari pone ai suoi follower dall’account Instagram Codalunga (studio e factory dell’artista). Il quesito diventa velocemente virale, ricondiviso da vari utenti, tra cui personalità influenti del mondo dell’arte e dello spettacolo.
“DO YOU TRUST ME?” costituisce il punto di partenza di “DOOU”, la performance che Vascellari svolge in diretta streaming dal suo studio dalle 20.00 di sabato 2 maggio alle 20.00 del giorno successivo.
L’artista entra in scena con un microfono e si muove da un punto all’altro del suo studio ripetendo in loop, come fosse un mantra, “I trusted you”. Mezz’ora prima della fine della performance, un colpo di scena: Vascellari abbandona la diretta facendoci riflettere sul senso della fiducia, della resistenza e del coraggio.
Nei giorni precedenti a “DOOU" e fino al termine delle 24 ore della diretta, all’interno della sezione shop del sito Codalunga sono state disponibili edizioni dei lavori dell’artista, il cui ricavato è stato interamente utilizzato per produrre il secondo evento che Codalunga ha commissionato all’artista successivo per finanziare a sua volta un terzo evento e così via. Vascellari ha così inaugurato una sorta di catena di fiducia che denuncia la necessità da parte del mondo dell’arte di ripensare profondamente tanto le proprie dinamiche economiche, quanto i propri valori e le proprie funzioni, per essere in grado di affrontare questi tempi incerti, ponendosi come modello alternativo a quello corrente, completamente incentrato sulla logica del profitto.

“DO YOU TRUST ME?” is the starting point of “DOOU”, the performance that Vascellari performs live, streaming from his studio from 8pm on Saturday May 2 to 8pm the following day.
The artist enters the stage with a microphone and moves from one point to another of his studio repeating in loop, as if it were a mantra, "I trusted you". Half an hour before the end of the performance, a twist: Vascellari abandons the live broadcast making us reflect on the sense of trust, resistance, and courage.
In the days before “DOOU” and until the end of the 24 hours of the live broadcast, editions of the artist's works were available in the shop section of the Codalunga website, the proceeds of which were entirely used to produce the second event that Codalunga commissioned to the next artist to finance a third event and so on. Vascellari has thus inaugurated a chain of trust that denounces the need for the art world to deeply rethink both its economic dynamics and its values and functions, in order to be able to face these uncertain times, positioning itself as an alternative model to the current one, completely focused on the logic of profit.
