This color pencil drawing depicts a tree against an abstract background, taking inspiration from artist Takashi Kuribayashi. I employed color pencil to depict the texture of the tree and flowers. Several branches are enclosed within black cubes, representing imprisonment, previous hardships and locked memories, while others bloom freely which reflects the ability to recover and persevere. This artwork symbolizes the process of overcoming obstacles in order to achieve personal development.
