In this series of my oldest brother, there are three works using graphite, charcoal and acrylic paint. Allowing me to experiment with with different techniques and styles. All of them are realistic but the painting uses an abstract approach with angular brush strokes. My intent with this series was to capture his kindness but also the mischief he is well known for. I feel that the absence of colour and exaggeration of his features best communicate these aspects of his personality.
