ABOUT SARENA BROWN!
Sarena Brown (they/them) is a crybaby. They are also a Philly-based disabled and covid-cautious, queer, and brown multi-media artist. Sarena is developing an organic abstract style using paint, ink, and cut paper where they use decisive lines and bold colors. They also paint affirming phrases on mostly second-hand tee shirts. Their art, no matter the medium, gets at how strange it is to feel your feelings and have a body, especially a multiply-marginalized body in a world that wants to keep you small. One day they want to feel neutral about having a feeling and having a body, but for now, they feel complicated about it. Their art documents this.
