Skydisks , 2021
80 x 60 x 3 cm (h x w x d)
Acrylic on canvas

This acrylic painting's primary purpose is to depict movement through the use of brushwork, which has been influenced by František Kupka. The eye is drawn to the set of disks from which an explosion of colour and movement originates. Brushwork is used to depict geometric shapes in rapid motion with depth, and strong colour value, creating a dynamic composition. I used smooth colour fields using the same method as Cliff House to create a contrasting yet balancing stillness with geometric shapes.
