Boundless Restraint is a series of charcoal drawings combined to metaphorically depict the mind state of confinement and restraint. I have used lines and shading to create dynamic angles and perspectives of a birdcage. While creating these works, I was able to let go of my perfectionism and draw what I desired. The birdcage is used as a metaphor for the constraints imposed by external forces, mirroring the fragmented nature of thought capturing the numerous experienced emotions.
