ARTWORK DESCRIPTION

This art piece is acrylic and mixed media on canvas (40 in x 40 in). Zohra has always used art as a way to express her emotions as well as an escape from reality. This piece was finished in 2 days. Zohra was feeling very sorrowful during the painting of the piece and nature has always been a place where she feels calm and refreshed. This painting represents a reflection place for her, thus was her inspiration for depicting the forest came from. She has created this piece using paint, gold foil, and a tint of paper.

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Zohra is a twenty-two-year-old self-taught artist and has been painting since 2016. She was born in Pakistan and came to Canada in 2008. She is currently studying interior design and trying to find ways to incorporate her love for art and design with her love for social justice. She is an advocate for women's rights and all forms of equality. Her goal is to use her art to showcase the struggles of women in various societies and convey hope for a better future. She hopes to inspire young girls to never set a limit as to what they can achieve in life.
